Just Keep GLOWing! While you're in Georgetown checking out our 9th edition of GLOW – the region's only free, curated exhibition of outdoor public light art – stick around to grab a bite to eat, take care of your holiday shopping, and check out special GLOW programming. We’ve highlighted some of our favorite holiday happenings below; for a full list of festivities, visit Holidays in Georgetown page.

GLOW SHOPPING NIGHT & OUTDOOR MARKET
Wednesday, December 6, 5 pm - 8:30 pm

Throughout Georgetown’s Commercial District

More than 40 of Georgetown's restaurants and retail shops are offering promotions, events, and/or extended hours on Dec. 6 as part of a special GLOW Shopping Night. From 20% off, to buy-one-get-one deals, gifts with purchase, pop-ups, gift card bonuses, and free sips while you shop, you better get GLOW’ing.

As part of GLOW Shopping Night, Neighbors DC is hosting an outdoor holiday market on the lawn of Grace Church (1041 Wisconsin Ave NW) from 2 pm – 8:30 pm. Vendor offerings include candles, jewelry, greeting cards, art, and novelties.

HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDES
Through December 25

Throughout Georgetown’s Commercial District

This year, we have four new holiday gift guides, curated with some of Georgetown’s most unique finds. Whether you’re buying on a budget (cause, you know, inflation), splurging, or looking for something to make your home even more cozy, we have you and your shopping lists covered.

‘MAKING SPIRITS BRIGHT’ COCKTAIL CRAWL
Wednesday, December 6, 6 pm - 10 pm

Throughout Georgetown’s Commercial District

In between your shopping, get to sipping. From 6 pm – 10 pm on Dec. 6, more than a dozen Georgetown restaurants and shops are participating in a self-guided holiday cocktail crawl. Featured drinks include a Naughty and Nice with Irish whiskey, Apple Pie Martini, Hot Buttered Rum, and an Italian Poinsettia - plus non-alcoholic hot mulled wine.

ICE SKATING
Friday, November 17 - Sunday, February 25

Washington Harbour, 3000 K Street, NW

You don’t need the snow to start enjoying the ice. The Washington Harbour Ice Rink is D.C.’s largest outdoor ice skating venue—and a must-do if you want to fully experience the holiday season. Skate alongside the Potomac River and enjoy a hot beverage from one of the rink-side restaurants. The rink is $11 per adult, $9 per child, senior or military member, and $7 for skate rentals. Visit their website for more info.

GEORGETOWN COOKIE TOUR
Saturday, December 9, 12 pm - 4 pm

Wisconsin Avenue

Georgetown Main Street is hosting the third annual Georgetown Cookie Tour. Shop our local businesses and build your own holiday cookie box as you go, with treats from our local bakeries. Get your tour tickets in advance!
